Neurotype Assessments
ADHD, Autism, and Combined Assessments
We offer a comprehensive and compassionate assessment process for individuals seeking greater clarity around ADHD and/or Autism.
We get that this process can feel confusing
So, below is a step-by-step overview of what to expect
Step 1: Intake Call
Duration: 15 minutes
Fee: free
We will organise a time to speak over the phone to make sure we are the right fit, answer your questions, and help get you booked for your first appointment.
Step 2: Screening Questionnaires
Duration: Approximately 30 minutes
Fee: free
Following the phone call, you’ll be sent a series of screening questionnaires to complete online at home, which will help guide the direction of further assessment and determine whether an ADHD, Autism, or a combined assessment is indicated.
Step 3: Initial Consultation
Duration: 50 minutes
Fee: $280
Medicare Rebate: Available with a referral under a Mental Health Care Plan ($141.85 rebate)
In this one-on-one session over Zoom, your psychologist will ask you questions to better understand your concerns and goals, and determine whether a full neurotype assessment is appropriate.
Step 3: Diagnostic Assessment Sessions
Based on your initial consultation and screening results, one of the following assessment pathways will be recommended:
ADHD Assessment
Your clinical psychologist will use the DIVA (Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in Adults).
The DIVA is a detailed and structured interview that explores ADHD symptoms across childhood and adulthood. It helps identify how attention, impulsivity, and executive functioning may have impacted different areas of your life over time.
Includes:
1-hour diagnostic interview
Additional targeted questionnaires (to be completed by yourself and someone who knows you well)
Scoring and interpretation
A brief diagnostic report
Fee: $550
Medicare Rebate: Not available for these services
Autism Assessment
Your clinical psychologist will use the MIGDAS (Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing the Autism Spectrum).
The MIGDAS is a structured interview designed to gather a clear picture of your experiences, strengths, and challenges across different areas of life in adulthood and childhood. It focuses on understanding social communication, sensory experiences, and patterns of thinking and behaviour related to autism.
Includes:
2-hour diagnostic interview
Additional targeted questionnaires (to be completed by yourself and someone who knows you well)
Scoring and interpretation
A brief diagnostic report
Fee: $800
Medicare Rebate: Not available for these services
Combined ADHD & Autism Assessment
Using both structured clinical interviews, the DIVA and MIGDAS.
Both interviews are conducted in a respectful, collaborative way, with space for you to share your story and ask questions throughout the process.
Includes:
3-hour diagnostic interview (this can be split across multiple days if preferred)
Additional targeted questionnaires (to be completed by yourself and someone who knows you well)
Scoring and interpretation
A brief diagnostic report
Fee: $1000
Medicare Rebate: Not available for these services
Step 4: Feedback Session
Duration: 50 minutes
Fee: $280
Medicare Rebate: Available with a Mental Health Care Plan referral ($141.85)
In this session, we’ll walk you through the assessment findings and recommendations, answer any questions you may have, and discuss possible next steps, such as therapy, support services, or onward referral.
You will receive a copy of your diagnostic report after this session
Please Note:
All sessions are conducted by a clinical psychologist with experience in neurodivergent presentations.
Report writing fees are built into the total assessment cost (they include questionnaire scoring, interpretation, and preparation of the diagnostic summary).
A diagnostic report is provided for each assessment pathway.
Although no guarantee can be made, in most cases, this report is sufficient for you to see a psychiatrist for medication.
No Medicare rebate is currently available for diagnostic assessments or report writing.
